My Japanese friend gave birth last week. She’s my neighbour and her whole family is still in Japan so I’ve been trying to help her out with some food. I know she misses Japanese food from home so I made these traditional Japanese sesame beans for her today along with some other food and boy were they yummy! I tried my best to make them taste authentic for her.
2 lbs green beans, trimmed
4 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp roasted sesame seeds
1/2 tsp sugar
1⃣Using a grinder or blender grind the sesame seeds up. Mix with soy sauce and sugar.
2⃣Boil the green beans in water for 3 mins so they are still crunchy. Drain, cut in half and put in bowl.
3⃣Mix green beans with the sesame mixture.
You can make this without the sugar if you like or you could replace it with brown sugar or coconut sugar. Or you can remove a portion for baby before adding the dressing and add a sugarless light soy dressing on it. ✔️ok 6 months
