Bean salad 

My #instaweanteam dish for this week is bean salad!  Accompanied here by hamburger and cherry tomatoes.

This is one of my absolute favourite recipes! It’s so tasty. The sugar in this really adds to the flavour. I made the salad, removed J’s portion, and then added the sugar to the rest.

2 cans mixed beans or 4 cups cooked fresh beans
1 can green beans or 2 cups fresh cooked green beans, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
1 onion, sliced
1/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
¼ cup sugar (optional or add after removing baby’s portion)

1.Mix all ingredients well, minus sugar, in a large bowl.
2.Remove baby’s portion and mix in sugar.
3.Let marinate in fridge for at least 1 hour.

That’s it! Really simple and great for summer picnics and eating outside. OK for 6 months + but beans may be hard for babies without pincer grip to grab so might be best to wait until pincer is established (or use it to help baby practice).
